Rural Butte County

The City of Biggs is located in the heart of rice country, 65 miles north of Sacramento. A local government with a “can do” attitude makes Biggs a welcome spot for businesses wishing to take advantage of its excellent climate and location.

Permitting

Biggs is a small city with a professional staff, quick turnaround and personal attention. There is a pro-business city council and no planning commission. For broader information about city, county, and state regulations see Permitting.

Licenses

One stop for licenses, quick and personal service, reasonable fees.

Utilities

The City provides water, sewer, storm drain and electricity. It takes just one stop to sign up for all. Biggs offers metered water services and electric rates below PG&E’s, and with no additional utility users tax. A service application is available on the Biggs website.

Market Research

An economic development study completed Oct 2007 is available by hardcopy, CD-ROM or PDF.

Relocation

Biggs is a growing community, where inexpensive housing, one of the lowest property tax rates in the state, a low crime rate, mild winters and warm summers, and neighbors that care about each other make this an excellent location to raise a family.
